Dell Pritchard Lindsley, age 84, passed away on Friday, September 4, 2015 due to natural causes.
Pritch was born June 28, 1931 in Norfolk, VA, the son of Kenneth Patton Lindsley and Ola Murciel Pritchard. While a toddler, his family moved to Williamston, NC where he was raised. He attended Virginia Prep before attending UNC. He took a sabbatical to join the US Marines during the Korean War and returned to graduate from UNC with a degree in English in 1958. He moved to New York City where he began his a career in arbitrage and later moved to Denmark to work for The Bank of Copenhagen (Den Københavnske Bank).
While in Denmark Pritch met the love of his life, Karin Mette Lindsley. Within 24 months they were married civilly in the Lutheran church of Mom’s youth, in Skien Norway; visited by two LDS missionaries while back in Denmark; joined the LDS church; and while Mette was pregnant with their first son, they flew back to North Carolina to help with the family business. Soon Henry and later Knut were born and the family moved to Raleigh and then to Salt Lake City, Sandy, and Holiday, Utah where another handsome son and three beautiful daughters were raised. Pritchard and Mette were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple in 1976.
Pritchard loved to serve, he worked with handicapped children as a special needs bus driver after retiring from working as a floor manager at Beehive Clothing Mills and as a shipping and receiving clerk at the LDS Church Office Building. He magnified his many church callings, and always looked for the good in people. , loving, and principled father. He is survived by three of his children: Henry Lindsley of Germantown, MD; Knut “Scott” Lindsley of Salt Lake City, UT; Lara Lindsley of Cane Beds, AZ; nine grandchildren; and his siblings: Kenneth Lindsley of Kansas City, KS. He is preceded by his parents Kenneth Patton Lindsley and Ola Murciel Pritchard; his siblings: Anne, Hugh Lindsley, Mary Neil,
In 2007 he was diagnosed with … and over the next 8 years progressively lost his memory and finally his life. He loved and was beloved by his grandchildren, whom he prayed for on a daily basis. He was cared for by his angel daughter, Lara Lindsley, who also was his joy.

at the Cannon Mortuary located at 2460 Bengal Blvd. (7600 S.), Salt Lake City, Utah. Viewings from
9:45-10:45 at the mortuary
