Venna Lucil le Mellor Patterson
1927 - 2014

Venna Patterson, 87 passed away peacefully on October 6, 2014.  Venna was born March 14, 1927 in Fayette, Utah.  She was the oldest of six children (two brothers and three sisters).  She spent her childhood in Fayette and Gunnison, Utah.  Later moving to Salt Lake City, Utah, where she met her husband.  She married Wesley Patterson and together they had two daughters, eight grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.
Family was everything to her.  She was a devoted wife and mother.  She enjoyed time spent with family and friends.  Her laughter was contagious and she was know by her grandchildren as the laughin' grandma.  She was truly a very special lady.
Venna was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was sealed to her late husband Wesley in the Jordan River Temple.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley, parents, Clarence and Eva Mellor; two brothers, Darwin and Russell Mellor, sister, Joyce Spencer and a granddaughter Sara Lindsey.
Venna is survived by two daughters, Patty (Randy) Lindsey, Pamela (Gary) Rogers.  She will be greatly missed by seven grandchildren; Clint (Teresa) Rogers, Matthew (Angela) Rogers, Colin (Koryann) Rogers, Christopher (Jamille )Rogers, Afton (James) Elam, Anna (Mark) Summers and Evan (Sarah) Rogers.  She leaves behind thirty three great-grandchildren and two sisters, Minnie LuDean Jensen and Rubecca Koning.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 11, 2014, 11:00 at the Brighton 1st Ward Chapel, 3001 E. Bengal Blvd. (7800 S.) A viewing will be held October 10, 2014 from 6:30 to 8:00 pm at the Cannon Mortuary, 2460 E. Bengal Blvd. (7600 S.) and the day of the service at the church from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m.  Interment Mountain View Memorial Estates.
