Trajan Victor Charles Weaver

October 20, 1945 — January 24, 2025

Trajan Victor Charles Weaver “graduated” the evening of January 24, 2025 due to illness. He had been under 24/7 care, and slept while our mother Karen remained by his side most of the day. His children gathered to be with him, and there were tears, laughter, and Neil Diamond ballads.

Born October 20, 1945 in New York, New York to Sylvester Laflin Weaver Jr. and Desiree Mary Lucy Hawkins. He is survived by his wife, Karen (Young), four children, Wynelle (Andrew Ririe), Diane (Derek Stout), Patrick (Janille Weaver), Christopher (JoyLyn Weaver), 12 grandchildren, James, Everett, Ethan, Kathryn, Alex, Ignatius, Rachael, Zeke, Soren, Daniel, Killian, Mary, and preceded by one angel grandson Samuel, who Trajan is undoubtedly playing trains with now.

Ever the zealous convert, Trajan served two missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The first was the Central States Mission completed in 1970. His second he served with his sweetheart, Karen, in 2005, the Inner City, Rosepark, Utah Mission. Even as each mission completed, he never stopped sharing his testimony.

Gregarious, bold, larger-than-life, his neurodivergent brain captivated audiences from home to church, at businesses throughout the community, and at the Costco free sample tables. He found photography, his faith, the love of his life, and his home in Salt Lake City, where his community embraced and accepted him. He gave thanks for the unique life he created. Trajan had an incredible sense of humor, full of joy and mischief.

We are grieving our loss and appreciate your thoughts and condolences during this difficult time. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 8, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at 2301 East Bengal Blvd, in Cottonwood Heights, Utah.
