Suzanne Haws Potter

Suzanne Haws Potter, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend passed away in her home on the 22nd of December, 2013, at the age of 62.
Sue was born to Lorin Haws and Barbara Duke Haws Rushton on February 28, 1951 in Salt Lake City, UT. She grew up in Torrance, CA and moved back to Utah to attend Brigham Young University, where she earned a bachelor's degree in computer science. After serving an LDS Japan mission, she met her sweetheart, Kelly Potter, who had also served an LDS Japan mission. They married December 17, 1977 and went on to have 5 children, 4 daughters and 1 son.
Preceded in death by her parents, Lorin Haws, Barbara Rushton, and Allen Rushton, and son, Christopher.
Sue loved being a grandmother to her 5 grandchildren, doing crossword puzzles, and reading murder mystery books. She was actively involved in Toastmasters and church activities, serving many positions in both. While she enjoyed living in Utah, she was a California girl at heart.
Survived by her loving husband, Kelly Scott Potter, daughters Melanie (Weston) Spencer, Alyssa (Luke) Hudson, Emily (Luis) Rivas, and Staciann Potter; brothers Steve and Randy Haws and sister Sandy Hodge; grandchildren Daixa (9), Jaxson (8), Kora (7), Dexter (4), Gwendalyn (2), and one grandson on the way.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 28 at 1 PM at the Union 6th Ward (1433 East Old Mission Road; 7930 S in Sandy, UT). Friends may call at Cannon Mortuary (2460 E Bengal Blvd; 7600 S) on Friday, December 27, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., and from 12:00 to 12:45 p.m. prior to services at the church. Interment Mountain View Memorial Estates, 3110 East 7800 South, Cottonwood Heights, UT.
