Shaun Connley Ruff

1965 - 2012

Shaun Connley Ruff's spirit was Set Free on September 9, 2012. Shaun entered this world on November 27, 1965 in Cheyenne, Wyoming to Clara and the late and incredibly missed Curt Ruff. Curt moved the family to Salt Lake City, Utah a few years later. Growing up along the Wasatch Mountains Shaun gained a true love for the mountains. Shaun's love for one canyon in particular, Bells Canyon, was shared with his dog Fritz and his guitar. He also shared a long and loving relationship with his jeep, which was notably seen rallying up the back hill of his parent's yard with Saxon, Def Leppard, Pink Floyd or Iron Maiden at high volumes. Shaun spent many summers, holidays and random visits in the plains of Nebraska riding his dirt bike with his little brother Brandon, where his beloved Grandparents owned a farm. Shaun also spent many summer months and vacations with his other beloved Grandparents in Montana. Graduated from the University of Utah and after losing his father moved to Kennewick, Washington where he spent time with family members and friends. He returned to Salt Lake City in 2010.

His faith in God was obvious to those who knew him.  Shaun's unforgettable smile will be missed by many, but undeniably most by his mom, Clara Ruff.  Shaun loved his mom more than words can describe and throughout his life he made sure those around him knew of the love he had for her.  His incredibly big heart reached out to so many, however Shaun's little brother Brandon Ruff, sis-in-law Melissa Ruff, nephew Kosten and nieces' Araya and Indy were the majority stockholders.  Every time the kids were around Uncle Shaun, he would magically pull suckers out of their ears.  To this day Kosten, who is ten, is still trying to figure out how he did it.

This unexpected and tragic loss will never go unfelt.  We hope and pray that you have found peace and will never forget all the good times we were blessed with.  Rest in peace son, big bro, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend.

There will be a private service for family members and friends, Friday, September 28, 2012, 4:00 p.m. at the Evangelical Free Church, 6515 Lion Lane, near Cottonwood Heights, UT. *Directions to church - off of 6200 South turn right onto 3000 East, turn left off 3000 East onto South Big Cottonwood Canyon Road, turn left onto Lion Lane.  (church is southeast of Trio Cafe' and Residence Inn that are located on 3000 East off of 6200 South.)
