Scott David Thompson
1954 - 2016
Scott David Thompson passed away unexpectedly June 9 2016. Born February 11, 1954 in Holladay, Utah to Claude and Madeline Perschon Thompson. Graduated from Granite High School and owned Scott Thompson Flooring . Scott married his sweetheart, Jennifer Terry 25 years ago. They had a special bond together. They were one of the sweet love stories of our time. Scott loved the outdoors and especially found peace in fishing and spending time exploring in the mountains of Utah. Besides being a master carpet layer he was an excellent craftsman with woodworking. He made and sold beautiful planter boxes and shelves. For never having carpentry training, he excelled in what he built along with completing his own basement. His yard was his pride and joy and it was always immaculately groomed for all to enjoy. His green thumb was very evident in his gardening. Scott had a wonderful, warm personality. He loved deeply and wasn’t afraid to let you know it. His quick wit was so evident. He could take any situation and come back with a quip that would make you laugh hysterically. We will so miss that funny and warm personality. Survived by his sweetheart, Jennifer, son Justin and two granddaughters, siblings, Bob (Sandra) Thompson, Brent(Marcia) Thompson, Claudia Bunker, many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews who adored him, and his best pal Willie-boy. Thanks to Cannon Mortuary and Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery for their professional and compassionate care of our loved one. Sleep well dear Scott until we meet again! A graveside service will be held at Larkin Sunset Cemetery 1700 East 10600 South, Sandy, Utah, Monday June 27th at 11 am. An open house will be held following the service at the Bunkers 2356 East Dolphin Way (7785 South) following the service. In honor of Scott, please dress casually as Scott would have. He will be smiling on us.
