The parties are quieter, and beer sales have dropped.
Sam Holmes was a wonderful soul. His big heart was kind and full of love, and his humor was a little naughty. His bond with his daughter Amber, who took care of him until his last breath, was amazing. Sam loved his two children, Amber and Austin, and his two grandchildren, Kaden and Arya, with all of his heart and soul, and had such a special bond with his son-in-law, Don.
He was a very skilled carpenter for many years. The only complaints from his customers: "WHEN WILL IT BE FINISHED, SAM?" He graduated from Olympus High School and gave the Red Dog a real run!
Fishing, boating, cars, dogs, music, and a good BBQ made life perfect. His smile, laugh, and big heart will be greatly missed. Some of us will even miss him drinking all of our beer! Keep smiling, Sam! Even if heaven has no beer!
The family would like to thank Dave and Jackie Chavis for all the many, many times they lent a hand.
Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, August 18th 1958, Sam was the son of Ervin and Jewell Holmes. Brother to Jeanie Hansen, Lynette Dent, Ervin Holmes, Karen Dittmore, and Sheyrl Holmes. He will always be missed by his little buddy, Noah.
A celebration of Sam's life will be held in his honor this August in the backyard of the Chavis Home.
