Ruth Annie Andersen Paxman, beloved mother and grandmother, 95, passed away October 3, 2020 at Draper Rehab. Born June 22, 1925, Ogden, Utah to Vernal Arnold Andersen and May Nielsen Andersen. Married Richard Bolton Paxman October 10, 1947. Later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on January 7, 1965.
Attended South High School, where she played basketball for a successful South High Team.
Devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She worked in the Scouting program for more than 20 years and loved being a Den Mother, Den Mother Coach and Regional Den Mother Coach.
She was devoted to her family, she loved having family get togethers and camping trips. Later in her life she enjoyed many cruises with family, friends and sometimes just her and her loving husband.
Survived by children, Darlene Bodell (Kevin Wight), Richard Paxman, Jr., David Paxman (Connie); sister Shirley Rakes; grandchildren, Bruce Blatnick (Christie), Ruth Castro, Michelle Blatnick, Michael Blatnick (Jennilyn) Chad Heiner, Phillip Heiner (Tanya), Christopher Christensen, Marjorie Bodell, Tony Paxman (Heather), Tommy Paxman; 27 great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her husband, daughter, Diana Blatnick, two grandsons, Steven Heiner, Richard Paxman, III and three brothers, Arnold, Art, Vernal “Pinkie”, Ross Andersen.
A visitation held Sunday, October 11, 2020, 6-8 p.m. at Cannon Mortuary, 2460 E. Bengal Blvd. (7600 S). Graveside services will be held Monday, October 12, 2020, Mountain View Cemetery, 3115 E. 7800 S. Masks are required and bring a chair if needed.
