Rose Marie Phillips
1925 – 2013
Rose Marie Timothy Miles Phillips passed away peacefully November 16, 2013.
She was born December 16, 1925 in San Francisco, California to Lewis Andrew and Inez Reynolds Timothy.
Rose grew up in Roosevelt and Maeser, Utah. She graduated from Uintah High School and attended BYU.
She was married to Oral S. Miles from 1944 until his death in 1991. Together they had four sons. She was married to John J. Phillips from 1994 until her death. She often said these were among the happiest years of her life.
Rose was a multi talented artist, having a keen ability with pencil and paint brush. She had the gift of musical ability and was an author of entertaining stories and clever poetry.
She will be remembered for her gracious ways, sense of social justice, and love for family and friends.
Survived by husband, John, sons, Paul (DeAnn), Doug (Noreen), Wally (Marce), Step-children, Sarah (Dave) McQuen, Andrew (Linda), John, Jr. (Rachel) and Susan Phillips, 15 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, sisters, Donna McDowell, Oral Clegg, Gayl Davis, and brother, Lewis. Preceded in death by son, Phillip Miles, brothers, Paul and Leon, sister, Lois Knight and Elva McCamey.
Celebration of life will be held, Wednesday, November 20, 2013, 11:00 a.m. at the Butler 1 st Ward, 2695 East 7000 South.
