Robert Sanford Patterson
1973 - 2013
Robert Sanford Patterson returned home to his Heavenly Father and joined the ranks of other noble, great, and faithful servants of the Lord. He left this "frail existence" on November 8, 2013 to be reunited with a healthy, strong, resurrected body along with his beautiful blonde hair. He will miss and be missed by his family which includes his eternal companion and wife of 12 years, Amy Kent Patterson. He has also prepared and trained 2 sons, Robert Alexander and Bridger Marshall, as well as his daughter, Alexis Mara, as valiant stripling warriors.
Robert was born on September 22, 1973, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Robert Adam and Laura Lee Patterson. He has 4 sisters; Kristin, Rebekah, Jenny, and Tyla and a brother, Adam. There are also numerous nephews and nieces that loved and respected their uncle Robert.
As a young man he served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Salta, Argentina Mission. Whenever he was called by his stake or ward leaders to serve, his answer was always "yes". He has faithfully served as a young men's president, a teacher, high priest group leader, high councilman, and as a member of numerous bishoprics.
Robert embodied the pure love of Christ and devoted his life to serving those around him, beginning with his family and extending to all of God's children. He was a phenomenal teacher and had a thirst for knowledge as he sought out of the best books words of wisdom that he could share and apply. You could always find him carrying a "marked up" book on the newest subject he was studying. Those that knew him desired to be around him because he had The Holy Ghost as his constant companion. He lived his life as a disciple of Christ and he can truly say as Paul, "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day.”
