Richard Dennis Dirkson beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother passed away October 1, 2014 at the age of 63.
Richard was born on November 9, 1950 to Donald and Irene (Anderson) Dirkson in Bishop, California. He truly loved playing football for Artesia High School in California. He graduated from East High School, Salt Lake City, Utah in June 1968. After graduation he served, proudly, in the United States Air Force as a refueling specialist for 3 years.
Richard married Sherrie Gates on February 14, 1976. They celebrated 38 years of marriage this year.
Richard coached many young men, his sons included, in both football and baseball. These times were favored memories for him and he always hoped he did well by all those boys he loved.
Richard is survived by his wife Sherrie, sister Phyllis Morse, three sons; Darrin, Jason (Amy), Adam (Chelsea), three daughters; Jamie (Allen), Monique, Caitlin, and 9 grandchildren; Rebecca, Rachelle, Jacob, Alyssa, Gillian, Mya, Madison, Riyan and Cynthia.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, his son Nicholas Verd Dirkson and his brother Robert Eliason.
On Thursday, October 9 th , visitors may pay their respects at Cannon Mortuary, 2460 E. Bengal Blvd. (7600 S) at a viewing from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 10 th at 1:00 pm with a viewing to precede at 11:30 am to 12:45 pm at Cannon Mortuary. Burial to follow at Mountain View Memorial Estates.
