Palma Sorenson Van Wagenen

1935–2016 Together Again

Palma Sorenson Van Wagenen, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend passed away peacefully on January 28, 2016.

Born March 4, 1935, Richfield, Utah to Lee Ray and Fontella Black Sorenson.  Married Glen Van Wagenen on July 20, 1954 in the Logan LDS Temple.

She served as a Missionary Mother in the South Dakota, Rapid City Mission, with her husband who was serving as the Mission President.  Palma loved her Heavenly Father and served in many callings in the LDS Church.  She also spent countless hours serving in the community.  During her life she was a devoted wife and mother.

Survived by children Russel (Mary Ann), Michelle, Christine Davis, David (Marti), 15 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, sisters Rae Onda Baxter, Colleen Scott and Lois Matthews.  Preceded in death by husband, sister Louise Moore, granddaughter Courtney Marie Van Wagenen.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 2, 2016, 12:00 p.m. at the Brighton 6 th Ward 2925 E. Bengal Blvd. (7800 S.)  A visitation will be held Monday, February 1, 2016 at the Cannon Mortuary, 2460 E. Bengal Blvd. (7600 S.) from 6-8 p.m. and the day of the service at the church from 11-11:45 a.m.  Interment Mountain View Memorial Estates.
