Ngoc Chung Metcalf

Ngoc Chung Metcalf (nee Pham Thi Ngoc Chung), 61, of Cottonwood Heights, UT passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at the Silverado Senior Living Center after a long valiant struggle with Alzheimer's disease.
Ngoc Chung was born January 8, 1951 in Hai Phong, Vietnam. She is the daughter of Le Thi Tam and Pham Duy Huand. Most of her childhood was spent in Dalat where she helped raise her younger sister and supported her family. She met and married her husband, Robert Burnett Metcalf, in Saigon while he was there working for the U.S. State Department. They were married on January 10, 1971. The marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on November 18, 2006.
Ngoc Chung and Robert spent the first few years of their marriage traveling on assignment. They lived in Thailand, Guam, Israel, Hawaii, and California before they settled in Salt Lake City in 1981. Ngoc Chung was a beautiful sweet woman who found a lot of joy raising her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed working in her garden and took pride in her beautiful roses.
Ngoc Chung is survived by her loving husband, Robert Burnett Metcalf; daughters, Kathy Holley (Michael) and Anne; grandchildren, Jillian, Nathan, and Katelyn; mother, Le Thi Tam; sister, Tuyet Anh 'Tammy' Nguyen. She is preceded in death by her father.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 17, 2012, 11:00 a.m. at the Brighton 5
th
Ward, 2301 E. Bengal Blvd. (7600 S.) A visitation will be held Friday, November 16, 2012, at the Cannon Mortuary, 2460 E. Bengal Blvd. (7600 S.) from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and the day of the service at the church from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Interment Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
