Gladys Naomi Nettleship Brems, a loving wife, mother, grand, great grand and great-great grandmother, peacefully passed away at the age of 97 on January 14, 2021 at home in Boulder, Utah, surrounded by family. Born September 29, 1923 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Arthur Vincent and Gladys Amelia Widdowson Nettleship. Married Robert Williams Brems on January 22, 1943 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
While raising her family, she attended the University of Utah graduating cum laude in 4 years in 1967. She taught school for over 20 years in Jordan School District. She was a talented pianist, homemaker, seamstress, gardener and candy maker. Her chocolates were renowned. She won awards for her beautiful yard and gardens. She will always be remembered for her style. Her long white hair, fun hats, skinny jeans and her “happy” red high-heeled shoes. She served in many capacities in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had a strong testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Together with Bob they served two LDS Service Missions. Naomi and Bob set a wonderful example of love for each other, family and the Savior.
Survived by her 6 children, Barbara (Larry) VanQuill, Scott (Jackie) Brems, David (Annette) Brems, John (Jolynn) Brems, Betty Carlson, Robert (Pamara) Brems and 33 grandchildren, 87 great grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren and brother Arthur (Maradon) Nettleship. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Williams Brems, grandson James Carlson, great grandson Joseph Madison and great-great grandson Jimmy Johnson.
A private family service will be held January, 23, 2021 at 1:00 p.m., at the Brighton 3rd Ward LDS Chapel. Services will be streamed via a live webcast starting at 1:00 p.m. January 23rd and can be viewed by clicking on the link below. Once on the site click on Naomi Brems service.
