Nancy Wilson

January 7, 1945 — August 15, 2021

Our beloved wife and mother went to join all the Angels and Saints on August 15, 2021.  She was born on January 7,1945 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Leo and Anne Finen.  She is a graduate of St James High School in Haverhill, Massachusetts.  She went on to study early childhood education and received a bachelor degree from Bridgewater University. She met and married the love of her life Don shortly after her graduation.  She continued her education receiving her Masters degrees in education and school psychology from the University of Maine and the University of Dayton.  Education and teaching were her joy in life.  She adored working with children and helping them to improve and learn to reach their best self.  She especially enjoyed working with children with special needs.  She retired from the Jordan School district in 2008 to enjoy the fruits of her labor. During their 53 years of marriage to her beloved husband Don she was able to experience travel, one of the biggest joys in her life. They traveled the world to many exotic places and experienced all that had to offer.  She was an avid knitter and frequently made trips to the local homeless shelter and children’s hospital with donations of handmade scarfs, shawls and hats.  She was very involved in the Native American Food Run for many years and made several wonderful friends in the Navajo Nation in Arizona. Doing charitable work gave her great joy.

She is survived by her loving husband Don Wilson, daughter Geralyn, son-in-law Mark, her two grandsons Sean and Zachary, her adoring sister Mary and brother-in-law Albert, and multiple nieces and nephews.

She will be interred at the Memorial Mountain Cemetery.  A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.  In lieu of flowers we request donations be made to the following, Shriners Children’s Hospital (donorrelations@shrinersnet.org) https://www.shrinershospitalsforchildren.org/shc/donate and the Navajo Nation Adopt a Native Elder (www.AnElder.org) https://anelder.org/giving/donation , or the Utah Food Bank (utahfoodbank.org) https://secure.utahfoodbank.org/site/Donation
