Melissa Holly Draper, our beloved sister, age 49, passed away peacefully in the presence of family members on Dec 4, 2024 in Bountiful, Utah after her many years battle with thyroid cancer.
She was born December 20, 1974 in Salt Lake City, Utah to David and Judy Draper.
Melissa was an endowed member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served a full-time proselyting mission for her church in Durban South Africa. Missy loved her family, especially her parents and grandmother, who preceded her in death. It was her passion to travel with her parents to the coast and see the Whales, Dolphins, and other Marine sea life. She loved those she went to school with, those she worked with, and most recently all those who visited and served her at her care facilities. She faced much trial and tribulation, enduring a physical body that was often challenging and uncooperative. Her siblings are full of gratitude that she has been relieved of her much pain and suffering and has graduated onto the next life. We will miss her greatly, but take solace knowing she is now in the arms of deceased loved ones she has dearly missed.
She leaves behind her siblings and their spouses, Michael (& Karen), Richard, Robert (& Janet), Elizabeth (& Eric), and Mathew (& Teresa), along with numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of formal funeral services, our family welcomes friends to a celebration of life, to be held on Monday, December 9, from 6-8pm at Cannon Mortuary (in Cottonwood Heights), 2460 E. Bengal Blvd. (7600 So.) Salt Lake City, UT 84121. Casual attire.
