Maureen C. Bangerter, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away peacefully on June 19, 2017.
Born February 5, 1924, Salt Lake City, Utah to Ernest Anthony Christensen and Mildred Bodell Christensen. Married Elton F. Bangerter in the Salt Lake Temple on June 10, 1942.
She and her husband lived all over the United States while Elton was in the service. Maureen was a barber and worked in her home in Cottonwood Heights. She only wanted to work on men because she said women were too picky. She loved horses and her dogs. She and Elton enjoyed traveling after his retirement. But most of all she loved and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. For the past 12 years Maureen was cared for and lived with her great granddaughter Amanda and her husband Daniel DeBoer.
Survived by daughter, Pamela Lee; grandchildren, Deborah Brown; Thomas LaRue; great grandchildren, Amanda DeBoer, Christa Hughes, Carson Hughes; four great-great grandchildren; sister, JoAnne Watorus, Jerry (Sandi) Christensen. Preceded in death husband and grandson, Matthew.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, June 22, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at Elysian Burial Gardens, 1275 East 4580 South. A visitation will be held prior to service at Cannon Mortuary, 2460 E. Bengal Blvd. (7600 S.) from 9:30-10:30 a.m.
