It is with great sadness that the family of Judy Dawson Hansen announces her passing on June 8, 2023 from a lingering illness. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Judy was born on February 25, 1941 to Arvilla Seal and Wallace Edgar Dawson in Salt Lake City, Utah. Her mom passed away when Judy was young and she endured a hard childhood missing her mother.
She met the love of her life, Grant Arden Hansen in 1960 at a church dance. They were married June 20, 1962 in Salt Lake City. Judy and Grant were devoted to each other and together they raised 3 wonderful children.
Judy worked as a hair dresser and at Dan’s Bakery for many years. Her best job was being a Homemaker, Wife, Mother and Grandma.
Judy loved to paint and craft. She had a beautiful singing voice and performed with the Jo Burton Singers and the Salt Lake Harmony Singers coral groups for many years. Her favorite thing was to spend time with her family camping, fishing and gathering together for every holiday. Judy loved the color purple. She wore purple, decorated her home with splashes of purple and her family looked forward to her entirely purple Christmas tree every year.
Judy is survived by her faithful and caring husband Grant; daughter Corrie (John) Roberts, son Troy (Cheree) Hansen and son-in-law Manfred Lassig; grandchildren Tye Hansen, Trevor Roberts, Cassia Myrberg and Dani Clark; six great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother DeLoy Dawson and her loving daughter Michelle Lassig.
Throughout her fight, Corrie, Troy and her daughter-in-law Cheree never wavered in their loving care they gave to Judy.
A private family graveside service will be held. She will be laid to rest at Elysian Gardens in Salt Lake City.
