Martha Jo Green, our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Dec, 14 2011. She was 77 years of age. Martha was born on January 15, 1934 in Etowah, Arkansas to Martha Ann and H.J. Meadows Jr.
Martha is preceded in death by her parents; husband Timothy Green; brothers Frank Linton Jr., and Joel Harding Meadows; and grandson Michael Allen Barrett. She is survived by her loving boys, Stephen Randall Barrett (Ana), David Brian Barrett (Susan), and Todd Allan Barrett (Malina); beloved Grandchildren, Brandy Gail, Sherry Jo, Stephanie Ann, Jessica Novaes, Bonnie Lee, David Brandon, Holly Jo, Amanda Ann, and Tyler George;
treasured Great-grandchildren, Shelby, Morgan, Maddy and Abby; and her devoted companion Wayne Hales, who loved his "Marti."
Martha had many friends, and had the amazing ability to light-up a room with her presence. Her hobbies included reading, traveling, politics and crossword puzzles. She was also involved in a local book and senior bridge club. Although Martha had many hobbies, her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. She will be missed dearly.
Martha’s "Celebration of Life" will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church located at 8575 S. 700 E. Sandy, Utah. Friends may call one hour prior to the services. Interment will follow services at Mountain View Memorial Estates, 3115 East 7800 South, Cottonwood Heights.
