MARION MORROW HAVRILO
1917 - 2012
Beloved mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, Marion Morrow Havrilo, passed away at the age of 95 on September 4, 2012.
Marion was born February 14, 1917 to William and Mary Williams Morrow in Rock Springs, Wyoming. She married Steve J. Havrilo September 20, 1935. Steve passed away June 18, 2005, three months short of being married for 70 years. From that union they were blessed with two sons, Stephen William Havrilo and Larry D. Havrilo.
Together Marion and Steve shared a wonderful life of trips throughout the world, memories and dear friends. During her life she witnessed nearly a century of history. Marion was a devout member of St. James Episcopal Church where for years she was a member of the Alter Guild and took such pride in meticulously preparing the linens for the church services. She was also a "Pink Lady" for St Marks Hospital for many years, receiving numerous awards for service. Marion loved to cook and her pies were out of this world.
Her crocheting was a thing of beauty, lovingly making lap blankets for those in nursing homes and caps for babies at the hospital. Her many afghans will be cherished by those fortunate enough to have received one.
After moving from Rock Springs to Magna, then to Sal Lake City, Marion worked for the I.R.S. from where she retired.
She is survived by her sons, Stephen W. Havrilo and his wife, Norma, of Murray, Utah, Larry D. Havrilo of Panama City, Panama, Grandson Stephen Scott Havrilo, Step-grand children, Todd Cowles (Kris),Todd's son Osten Maestas; Lisa Lynn Ward (Ron), their two children, Zack and Sydney. Three special nieces; Margaret Wallender, Helen Beck and Mary Ann Mivchek, Nephews, Bill (Betty) Morrow and Jack (Joyce) Morrow. Many wonderful friends will dearly miss her.
A special thanks to John and Mary Dillon, the wonderful staff and patients at Rocky Mountain Care Center who cared for Mom with such love and compassion.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, September 13, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at St. James Episcopal Church, 7486 South Union Park Ave. The family will greet friends one-half hour prior to the service.
