Marilyn Stoffers Maass, wife of Gerald M. (Jerry) Maass, daughter of Frederick Kenneth Stoffers and Wilda Maxwell passed away December 12, 2020 of complications due to cancer. She was born in Vernal, Utah on April 22, 1935. Marilyn has one sister, Suzanne Gatherum (Owen).
Jerry & Marilyn were married on June 16, 1972 in the Salt Lake temple. She was previously married to Dr. Samuel P. Robison. Together they had 5 children; Dr. Rick S. Robison, Shauna (Bjork) Robison, Michael P. Robison, Mitchell J. Robison and Stewart K. Robison. She has 10 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by one grandchild, Brittana Robison. When she and Jerry married 5 more children were added; Michael D. Maass, Marcilyn M. Luiz, Dr. Melanie K. Maass, Mignon M. Vermason and Matthew D. Maass.
Marilyn attended Jordan High School and was a Beetdigger cheerleader. She also attended BYU and LDS Business College. She served as a Stake missionary and was active in many auxiliary organizations in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, including a member of a Stake Relief Society Presidency and ward Relief Society President. She served as an ordinance worker in the Salt Lake temple for 8 ½ years before she had to leave due to declining health. She worked for Highland Cove in the marketing department for many years and knew every resident by name.
The family expresses genuine gratitude for the compassionate care, love and friendship shown by Dr. Margaret S Lunt for the 21 years of service rendered to Marilyn. Meg was in there giving comfort right up to Marilyn’s last breath.
Private family services will be held Saturday, December 19, 2020, 12:00 p.m. at the Brighton Point Chapel, 3455 E. Bengal Blvd. (7800 S.). A viewing will be held on Friday, December 18, 2020 at Cannon Mortuary at 2460 East Bengal Blvd. (7600 S.), Cottonwood Heights, Utah from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and the day of the service at the church from 11:00 to 11:45 a.m. Interment Memorial Mountain View Cemetery.
