Marilyn Faye Bowman Garner was born on October 27, 1932, in Ogden, Utah to Genevieve and Arthur Bowman. Mom’s journey was one of remarkable happiness, resilience and love. From her earliest days, she exhibited a warmth and kindness that drew people to her. She was the cornerstone of our family, a beacon of hope and comfort, and a source of endless wisdom.

Mom was not just the life and light of our family, she was the soul that connected us all. Her aura invited us to share our joys and sorrows with her. She possessed the ability to understand and empathize with the emotions of others, making every person she encountered feel valued and heard.

She married her high school sweetheart and had four beautiful children (Kathy, Gary, Vickey, Jodi). After a long journey, she married Clair Garner in the Jordan River Temple. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, she was a dedicated & faithful servant in both her church callings and temple work.

Family isn’t always blood. It is the people in your life who want you in theirs; the ones who accept you for who you are. The ones that would do anything to see you smile and who love you know matter what. Family is not defined by our genes, it is built and maintained through love.

To her family, Mom was an unwavering source of support and love. When we stumbled or doubted ourselves, she was there, with a comforting hug and a gentle push in the right direction. Mom taught us to believe in our strengths and to have the courage to face our weaknesses. It was from her example that we learned to nurture the bonds of family, to care for others, and to face life's challenges with grace and strength.

As we say our goodbyes, we do so with a heart full of love and gratitude for the wonderful woman who was our mother, our guide, and our closest friend. Her legacy of compassion and encouragement lives on in all of us, and we will carry it with us as we journey through life without her.”

Her legacy will be carried on by her family who love and miss her:

Kathy Aller - Ryan & Haley Aller, Michael Aller & Alison Conway; Vickey Barrett - Savannah Carr; Jodi & Kirk Ballif - Gary & Tia Mitchell (Kalina, Ava, Wyatt, Emmett), Ricci Ballif (Hayden), Karli & Jared Rodabaugh (Kameron, Aunabel), Megan & Cameron Smith (Mason, Parker, Raina), Olivia Richards & Blake Jefferies (Savannah, Gage), Steve & Holly Balding.

We would like to thank all the many people that have shared their love and services. Her special friends Paula & Tom and Jenny & Andrew. Our Ward and neighbors, Nurses and staff at St George Regional Hospital, Summit Care Hospice, and their fantastic nurse Paula. Also a thanks to Mckensie and Ashlyn for their special care and love for mom.
