Our mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Maggie Lyman Stewart, passed away November 4, 2021, from injuries sustained in a fall.
Margaret was born to Emerson Stewart and Margaret Irene Nowell Hand, May 26, 1943, in Murray, Utah. Her mother Margaret, died in childbirth the same day.
Emerson was left to raise four daughters in the mouth of Little Cottonwood Canyon, in the home he had built. He married Geneve Glenn, and three more sisters followed.
The canyon became an anchor in Margaret's life. She returned to raise her son John in the family home.
Maggie managed and operated many businesses. Hotels, restaurants, sewing companies dress shops...even her own sand candle business.
She traveled extensively. Worked in Hawaii, Jackson Hole, the Cottonwood Canyons, and St. George Utah. She was a wonderful friend to many, many people.
