Lynne Bryan

February 12, 1938 — August 23, 2020

Karma Lynne Shrives Bryan passed away, surrounded by her children, on August 23, 2020 in Sandy, Utah. Lynne is an adored mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who will be missed enormously. Her witty sense of humor and genuine caring nature draw others to her, and she quietly served those around her, even as she aged. She loves her children, and each of her grandchildren know they are Nana’s favorite. They enjoyed spending time with her and still view her as a loving friend and example of pure, Christ-like love.

Born in Preston Idaho in 1938, she grew up with four brothers and was the only daughter of Alton James Shrives and Genevieve Davis Shrives. Lynne married her sweetheart, Ellis Bryan, on March 14, 1958 in Franklin Idaho. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. Motherhood was her most honored calling, and she lived to love and nurture her family. Her empathy, sense of fun, and kind heart won her countless cherished friends, and she viewed each as a sister. She loved to serve others and performed many callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Lynne is survived by her daughter, Tammy Winegar (Rick); daughter, Sheri Angell (Cory); daughter-in-law, Kelly Bryan; son, Wyatt Bryan (Malissa); daughter Chelise Pack (Jerry); 19 grandchildren, and 26 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ellis; son, James; parents, and brothers.

A viewing will be held Thursday, August 27 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Cannon Mortuary, 2460 East Bengal Blvd. (7600 South). A graveside funeral service for Lynne’s immediate family will be held Friday, August 28 at 10:00 a.m. at Mountainview Memorial Estates, 3115 Bengal Blvd.
