LILLIAN KAY SUTTON GOLDMAN
1943 - 2015

Lillian Kay Sutton Goldman passed away at the age of 72 on September 1, 2015 in SaltLake City as a result of brain cancer.

Born March 12, 1943 in Salt Lake City to William Henry Sutton, Jr. and Lillian LaVerda Thomson. Kay graduated from the University of Utah, was a member of the Alpine Search and Rescue team, and taught third grade at Uintah Elementary in the Salt Lake City school district. She had a lifelong love of photography, occasionally joking that her family wouldn't recognize her without a camera in front of her face. She was a dedicated member of Daughters of Utah Pioneers. Before retiring to be a fulltime grandma, she worked at a local Hallmark store, where she made friends of coworkers and customers alike. Kay was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints (LDS), and spent many years—in two different wards—serving as a ward librarian. Her faith showed in the way she lived her life and strengthened her in her final battle with cancer, as she told her children she was “never for a moment afraid.”

Kay is survived by the jewels of her life; her children: Jacob (Erin) Goldman, Michael (Emily) Goldman, and Katie (Jered) Buhler; and 5 grandchildren: Daniel, Ellie, Samuel, Lillian, and Henry; as well as her former husband, Alvin Goldman, who remained a friend to the end. She is also survived by her “lap dog,” Maggie and 2 granddogs.

Special thanks to the staff at Paramount Health and Rehabilitation for the caring and compassionate care that they gave to Kay.
