Lezlee Beckstead

Lezlee Ann Beckstead, our loving daughter, sister, aunt, great aunt and friend passed away peacefully at the age of 61 on Tuesday,  November 29, 2022 at home after a valiant battle against cancer.

Lezlee was born on December 15, 1960 in Murray, Utah to Alma Willis and Beverly Beckstead.

Lezlee was actively involved in sports throughout her life.  She played high school sports and continued playing on County Rec teams throughout the years.

Lezlee graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Science and then pursued an Associates degree in Computer Science.

She loved the outdoors camping, fishing, skiing and spending time with her family.  She was very determined to catch “Walter” and on her last fishing trip in November to Strawberry Reservoir she caught a 3 lb. Rainbow trout, she called  “Walters Brother”.  Now she is fishing with her father.   She spent many hours watching her nieces, nephew, great nieces and great nephews playing sports and supporting them.

She spent hours making tied-fleece blankets, cross stitching and loved to make the Christmas pajamas for her nieces and nephew when they were young.

She worked right to the end for the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) in the water rights department for the State of Utah.

She was a strong advocate for the following organizations:  CAWS (Community Animal Welfare Society), No More Homeless Pets,  Best Friends, Ear Tip Ranch, Ching Farm Sanctuary, Angel PAWS, Lorelei’s Legacy, Wildlife Rehabilitation Center,  and Second Chance Wildlife.

Lezlee loved life and her family with all her heart.  She lived life to the fullest, was positive about everything, and never gave up!

Lezlee is survived by her mother, Beverly, brother Carey (Leonida) and sister Tiffany Ball (LaMont).  Nieces Melissa Mellor (Josh), Alison Croff (Doug), Jennifer Bawden (Jameson), Kim Beckstead, Jessica Gilbert, Brittany Miller (Jake) and nephew Preston Ball.  Great nieces and nephews who she loved with all her heart.  Carson, Cady, Nathan, Daniel, Anya, Brayden, Weston, Kaycee, and our newest angel to join our family on December 2, Coraline.

Lezlee is preceded in death by her father, Alma Willis, grandparents, cousins, uncles, aunts, and many of her feline friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 10, 2022, 12:00 p.m. at Cannon Mortuary, 2460 East Bengal Blvd., (7600 South).  A viewing will be held Friday, December 9, 2022 at Cannon Mortuary from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and the day of the service from 11:00-11:45 a.m.  (additional parking across the street)  Interment Mountain View Memorial Estates 3115 Bengal Blvd.
