Surrounded by her family, Laurine peacefully left this world, in the very room where she delivered and welcomed many babies.
Born on July 19, 1931, to Ernie and Blenda Ekstrom. Laurine grew up in Salt Lake City and was a graduate of East High School. She furthered her education and received her Practical Nursing degree. After working in the surgical and pediatric units at several hospitals in the Salt Lake Valley, Laurine found her calling in life as a Midwife and Childbirth Educator. She was gifted with compassion, honesty and knowledge.Laurine married Leon Kingston on August 15, 1953, and together they had six children- Brent, Joyce, Diane, Jenene, Grant and Elden, fifteen Grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. In their seventy years of marriage, together they made many memories in The Magic House on Redwood Road.
Survived by her husband and children, 2 brothers and 1 sister.Greeted in heaven by parents, sister and 3 brothers.
A Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at Cannon Mortuary, 2460 East Bengal Blvd. (7600 S.), Cottonwood Heights, Utah from 6 to 8 p.m. Interment Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at Bountiful City Cemetery, 2224 South 200 West, Bountiful, Utah at 10 a.m.Tuesday, March 12, 2024
