Karen Mette Andersen Lindsley


1945 - 2011

Karin Mette Andersen Lindsley, aged 66, passed away on Friday, December 2, 2011.  She was born March 27, 1945 in Skien, Norway to Henry and Edith Andersen. She married Dell Pritchard Lindsley in Norway on October 7, 1967. They converted to the LDS faith and moved to North Carolina, where their first two strapping sons were born.  The family relocated to Salt Lake City, UT where she gave life to, and raised, another handsome son and three beautiful daughters. Mette earned her degree as a Master Esthetician and was a healer all of her life. Known for her generosity, she prepared feasts that filled empty stomachs and united friends.

She is survived by three of her children:  Henry Kenneth Lindsley of Germantown, Maryland, Knut “Scott” Lindsley of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Lara Katrina Lindsley of Cane Beds, Arizona, nine grandchildren, and her sister Bitten Madsen of Skien, Norway.  She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Marit Baugerod, and her beloved Tante Tuta, and three children, Todd Adam Lindsley, Lillian Maria Lindsley, and Heidi Ann Lindsley.

Funeral services will be held at Cannon Mortuary on 2460 E. Bengal Blvd. in Salt Lake City, on Saturday, December 10, at twelve noon, with a viewing beginning one hour prior, at 11 a.m.  Interment will take place in South Jordan Cemetery on Monday, December 12, 9:00 a.m.  A memorial service will be held at the Cane Beds schoolhouse in Cane Beds, AZ on Monday, Dec 12 at 5 p.m.
