Joyce Taylor was born on January 24, 1943, in Bountiful, Utah. She died at the age of 77 at Lakeview Hospital after being on the ventilator for just over 2 years. Joyce grew up in Bountiful, Utah, in the home of Perry and LaPreal Frandsen, who had lived through the Great Depression. She learned the art of thriftiness and how to manage a household on a budget. Joyce graduated high school and was awarded a college scholarship but instead she chose to fulfill her life-long dream of becoming a mother.
Joyce had 9 children and 13 grandchildren. Her children are: Orlean, Vince, Marilyn (Dave), Grace, Joseph, Terra, Elden (Jill), Rebekah (Bryce) and B. Merlin.
Joyce was a health food advocate. She loved music and photography, and she enjoyed sharing her pictures with family and friends. Joyce dedicated her life to the service of others, and in her later years she was devoted to the care of her husband and family history.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Merlin; 3 children, Orlean, Vince, and Joseph; and her grandson, Jesse.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 30, 2020 at 10 am located at 1880 W. Parkway Bvld. (2495 S.) West Valley City, Utah. The viewing will be held Wednesday from 6-8 pm and Thursday at 9 am. Internment at the Bountiful City Cemetery.
