Joseph Miller, 89 years old, passed away on December 14 th in the comfort of his home in Sandy, Utah. He was the husband to Joycelin Carol (Stoehr) Miller. Joseph and Joycelin were married for 63 years.

Joseph was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on January 18, 1927. He was the son of Helen Miller. Joseph served his country in the army for two years during World War II, and was employed as an automobile assembly line inspector with Chrysler Corporation for over 30 years.

Joseph gained a testimony of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1957. He served faithfully in all his callings and loved serving the Lord at every opportunity. Joseph enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, family members, and friends watching movies, playing cards, watching sports, and conversing with anyone who would listen. Joseph will always be known as the best Rook player who coined the phrase “You have to play with ‘astitution’”.  The phrase is believed to mean “Play with determination or fortitude”. Joseph will be eternally remembered as a selfless member of the community, a very caring, loving, and devoted husband, father, and friend.  Joseph was dedicated, faithful, and loyal to the teachings of Jesus Christ, and would have given the shirt off his back to anyone in need.

Joseph is survived by his spouse Joycelin Miller, six children and their spouses:  Joey Miller (Patty), Debbie Adams (Tom), Dani Shade, Tammy Giove (Sal), Dayne Miller (Lisa), Shani Urland (Tim), and 24 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. Joseph was predeceased by two children (Richie and a baby girl) and his former spouse Gloria Miller.

Services for Joseph will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2017, at the LDS Chapel, 2180 Meadowlark Way, Sandy Utah . The viewing will be at 10:00-11:15 a.m., and funeral services at 11:30 AM. The burial will be held at 2:00 PM. at Highland City Cemetery, 6200 West 11000 North, Utah.
