Gerald Forrest Hixson

Beloved father and grandfather, Gerald Forrest Hixson, 81, passed away July 17, 2023 at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, Utah.

Gerry was born on February 4, 1942 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Fory and Helen Hixson.  He was a graduate of East High School.  He married Janet Eloise Kirkman on March 11, 1966; later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.  The two of them went on to raise two wonderful children.  They spent 31 years as a team before Janet preceded him in death on January 3, 1998.

Gerry had an incredible work ethic in his professional life and later as a volunteer with the Sandy Amphitheater and Tiny Tim’s Foundation For Kids.  He gave one thousand percent in everything he did.

Gerry’s greatest joy was his family.  He was immensely proud of his children and his four beautiful granddaughters. As a family, many hours were spent vacationing, having meals, playing games, watching sporting events, attending the theater and teasing and laughing.

Gerry is survived by his daughter, Dana Howell; son, Rob(Teri) Hixson; and granddaughters, Morgan Eagar, Madison Eagar, Kyra Saunders and Kelcie Hixson.

Dad, we appreciate you more than you will ever know.  We thank you for teaching us, supporting all we did and always being there when we needed you. We will all miss you so very much!

A private service was held and he was interred next to the love of his life.
