Gary Lee Dean, age 90 years, left this earth and went home to be with his beloved wife, Bessie, on the morning of December 26, 2021.
He was born in Ogden, Utah, August 12, 1931 to Levi Norvill and Lucile Waldram Dean.
After graduating from Ogden High School, Gary attended the University of Utah, where he studied to be a Pharmacist. At this time he also became of member of the Army Reserve where he served 2 years.
Taking his new wife with him, Gary began his first job as a Pharmacist in Pomona, CA. They lived there for several years until Bessie was very ready to get back to her family in Utah. They packed up their 2 little boys and moved back home.
Gary had a great love for his family, the gospel, the outdoors, all sports, and travel. He loved driving all over the country with his sweet Bessie…rarely passing up a new dirt road along the way. When a trip was being planned, he studied every map and every road that they were going to travel. He loved adventure, and had a dream of visiting every National Park in America, to which he came very close.
Gary was Pharmacist for over 59 years, serving the community with a kind heart and a smile for everyone. He finally retired at the age of 78 years old.
He is proceeded in death by his parents and his dear wife. He is survived by his brother Jay Dean (Iola), his children, S. Scott Dean (Sheri), Bob Dean (Kim), LeAnne Farr (Lance), and Ken Knobel (Julie).
Special thanks to all those at Covington Senior Living in Lehi, Utah, who made Gary’s last few months on earth happy and comfortable. Jesse, thank you for taking him on rides when he could no longer drive. He found such joy going with you. And Patti and staff, your kindness will never be forgotten.
Also a special thanks to Mountain Point Medical Center for the great and tender care that was given to Gary and his family through his last few days.
