1962 Evan 2024

Evan Michael Emery

September 13, 1962 — June 30, 2024

Evan Michael Emery, born September 13th 1962, to Lynnae Frances Emery and Marvin Thomas Emery, passed away Sunday June 30th 2024

Evan is a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend to many people. He is survived by his brother David, his sister Melanie, his sister-in-law Julie, his nieces, a nephew, as well as countless caregivers, all of whom will dearly miss him. He is preceded in death by his parents Marvin and Lynnae, his brother Marv Jr., as well as maternal and paternal grandparents.

Since having spinal meningitis as an infant, Evan was developmentally delayed; being different in such a way can be difficult, but it was also an unexpected gift. One of the most beautiful things about Evan was his ability to make friends. He never hesitated to speak to anyone. He would offer a warm smile, a handshake, and befriend anyone and everyone that crossed his path. He truly loved everyone. Evan’s favorite animal was a dog and, like a puppy, he loved without reservation or judgment and forgave as easily as he took breath.

While Evan was friendly, loving, and warmhearted, he also had a great sense of humor. He was witty and intelligent, often making us all laugh: not just any laugh, but a really good laugh from deep in the belly. An angel among us, Evan’s kindheartedness, gentle nature and loving presence will be deeply missed. Our beloved angel Evan, may you rest in peace knowing that we are all better people for having your love and influence in our lives.

A viewing will be held Friday July 5th, 2024 at 10:30am followed by a service at 11:30 am at Cannon Mortuary, 2460 Bengal Boulevard (7600 South), Cottonwood Heights, Utah 84121
