Doris Mozelle Hudson Wilson

March 12, 1929 - August 6, 2012

Doris Mozelle Hudson Wilson, surrounded by her loved ones, peacefully returned to her Heavenly Father on August 6, 2012.

Doris was born on March 12 th , 1929 to Fred and Annie Hudson in Greenville, South Carolina.  She served an LDS mission in the Southern States Mission.  Doris married Walter Teddy (W. Ted) Wilson on March 20 th , 1953 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They made their home in Bountiful, Utah, and had six children.

In addition to being a loving mother, Doris always made time to serve her community. She was the past president of the Utah League of Women Voters, the former chairman of the Davis County Republican Party, the former vice-chairman of the Utah State Republican Party, and worked as the reading and amending clerk in the Utah State House of Representatives.

Ted and Doris moved to Washington D.C., where Doris served on the staff of U.S. Congressman Howard C. Nielson of Utah, and U.S. Congressman Wayne Allard of Colorado.

Doris is survived by her sons: Gary (Penny), Mark (Pat), Scott (Martha) and Bryan (Christine), 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She leaves behind her brothers and sisters: Ross (Marion) Hudson, Dennis (Kathy) Hudson, Jeanne Parkinson, Jody Hudson and Maddie Duke. She is also survived by her “adopted” family, Gary Pruett (Debbie), and their three children. Doris joins her husband, Ted Wilson; her children, Christopher Wayne and Linda Wilson; her parents, Fred Emanual Hudson and Annie Dee Friddle; her step mother, Minnie Duke Hudson; and her brothers, Mickey Hudson, Harold Hudson, Garn Duke and

Kent Hudson, who preceded her in death.

A viewing will be held Friday evening, August 10, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. at Cannon Mortuary, 2460 Bengal Boulevard, Salt Lake City. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 11, 2012 at 11:00am at the Valynn LDS Chapel, 6719 West Valynn Drive (13500 South), Herriman, Utah with a viewing from 10:00 to 10:45am prior to services at the church. Interment will be at Bountiful City Cemetery, 2224 South 200 West, Bountiful, Utah at 1:30pm.
