Constance Doreen Spaletta
January 8, 1932 – March 26, 2011

Our mother, Doreen Spaletta, age 79, passed away March 26, 2011. Born January 8, 1932 in Pacific Grove, California, daughter of Maurice and Ellen Morrow Alsop. Graduated from Pacific Grove High School. Lived in Pacific Grove, CA, Reno, NV, Englewood, CA, Sacramento, CA, Idaho Falls, ID, then moved to Salt Lake City in 2000 to be with her daughter and family.

Our mom was the epitome of a good mother. She will be remembered for her gentleness, kind eyes, extraordinary meals, needlepoint artwork, musical ability, beautiful penmanship and dry wit. She loved her family, animals, soft warm clothing, reading mysteries, all things sparkly, bright colors, game shows, the Monterey Peninsula, Elvis, Willie Nelson, and See’s candy.

Her legacy to us is her example of unconditional love, honesty, maintaining life long friendships, never speaking unkindly to or of anyone, the importance of thank you notes, keeping an open mind and a life lived without pretention.

She is survived by three children, Debbie (Jon) Orgill, Cottonwood Heights, UT, Bill (Debi), Yakima, WA, Jim (Julenne), Rigby, ID, nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Also survived by brother, Ron (Mary) and family, Monmouth, OR; a number of cousins and many friends.

Preceded in death by mother, father, stepmother Lydia, special Aunt Lois, great grandson Kincaid, cousin, Jon Strickland, friend John Sullivan and many beloved relatives, friends and pets.

Thank you to special angels, Lisa Sullivan, Martie Renwick, Suzy Derowski and son-in-law, Jon. A special thanks to her granddaughter Andrea for her help at this time.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 31, 2011, 1:00 p.m. at Cannon Mortuary, 2460 E. Bengal Blvd. (7600 S.) Cottonwood Heights, UT. Family and friends are welcome to share stories about mom at this time. Interment Mountain View Memorial Estates, 3115 East 7800 South, Cottonwood Heights, UT.

Momma, the light has gone out of the upper floor at our house. We all love you and look forward to seeing you again.
