1937 - 2018

Deanna Jean Free joined her sweetheart on August 5, 2018. She was the oldest of three children born to Vard Rowen Erickson and M. Ruth Lemmon on Sept. 20, 1937 in Murray Utah.  She married her childhood sweetheart and best friend David Roy Free on July 10, 1954.

Together they had three children David G. (Joni) Free, Deanna Lynn (Michael) Williams, and Denise Kay (Vaughn) Rose, ten grandsons, four step-granddaughters, who she loved dearly and they loved her. She was blessed with 32 great-grandchildren.

Jeanie had many accomplishments; her greatest was her family and serving others. She dedicated her life supporting her husband and children in every endeavor.  She served in several callings in her church but the most rewarding was working with the special needs primary for over 25 years.

She is survived by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her brother, Bill (Linda) Erickson, sister, Carolyn (Denny) Needham, brother-in-laws, Charles (Linda) Free, Richard (Vickie) Free, Stephen (Maureen) Free and sister-in-law, Madeline (Wal) Habib.  Preceded in death by her husband and brother-in-law, Jarold Free.

A memorial will be held on Thursday, August 9, 2018, 10:30 a.m. at the Union 1st Ward, 1535 Creek Road (7800 S.), Sandy, Utah.  A visitation will be held prior to services at the church from 9-10:15 a.m.

In lieu of flowers please donate to the Primary Children’s Hospital or a charity of your choice.
