SLC, UT, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and friend passed away suddenly of complications with Pneumonia on January 10, 2014. She was 67 years old. She was born November 19, 1946 in SLC, UT to Leland and Ivy Rytting, the second of four children. She moved to Alaska as a teenager and later married C.E. "Swack" Swackhammer who preceded her in death on October 11, 1994. She moved back to SLC in 1995 and later married Robert C. Bowen on September 23, 2000. Cindy was very active in the LDS Church where she served as a ward Relief Society President, in ward and stake Young Womens organizations, as a stake and ward activities coordinator, and she was a temple patron at the Salt Lake Temple. She enjoyed all of her church service opportunities and most recently loved serving as a nursery leader.
She is survived by her spouse, Robert Bowen and by her children, Troy Swackhammer, Tyler Swackhammer, Kim Feller (John), Mariana Ahlers (Brian) in UT; Lisa Manery (Charles), Robin Baker (Peter), Jennifer Ferguson in ID; Scott Bowen (Linda) in AK, Suzette Willoughby (Robert) in IL, 20 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and three sisters, Gloria Johnson in AK, Janet Andrew (Dave), and Patricia Rivas in UT. Cindy was passionate about life. She loved her children, grand children and great-grandchildren. Cindy loved being a homemaker, was a great cook and hosted fantastic parties. She enjoyed dancing and traveling.  She was an avid reader and an amazing gardener. She has made many happy memories with family and friends and will be truly missed.
The viewing will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2014 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Olympus 8th ward building at 2675 E. and 4430 S., Holladay. The Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 17, 2014 at 12:00 pm at the Olympus 8th ward building. Family and friends will be received from 11:00 to 11:45 prior to services. Interment will follow at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
