Curtis Kindred

May 28, 1942 — February 13, 2021

Funeral Recording

Our brave, positive, adorable dad and grandpa, Curtis Berne Kindred passed away February 13, 2021 surrounded by his loving family after an ever so courageous battle with Parkinson's disease. Curt was born in Tooele, Utah May 28, 1942. He was born to Grayce and Berne Kindred and was the oldest of 3 boys.

He served in the US army and then served an LDS mission to London, England. He loved his time serving there and fell in love with the people and the culture. He loved to tell stories about his time there and about the people he met.

He met the love of his life, Patty, they married in 1966. They fell in love in San Francisco and the rest was history.

He was a banker at Wells Fargo and Zions Bank where one day he met Larry H. Miller. Larry convinced him to leave the bank and start and manage Larry H. Miller Leasing Company. He was there for 23 years. He had so much pride in and loved his work there.

Curt loved the Gospel of Jesus Christ, he loved studying and teaching the scriptures. He cherished his time serving as Bishop of a University of Utah young married students ward.

Curt was a man of routine and discipline. He was up at 5 am every morning, exercising, emptying the dishwasher, having his bowl of oatmeal and world-famous orange juice. Every night, he watched the news or the Jazz game while eating his grapefruit with his grand babies or dogs. He loved to ride his bike, go for walks with his kids and grandkids, work in his yard and garden, watch his teams play, and enjoy the simple pleasures and beauties of life. He was an eternal optimist. He never complained. He always looked for the sunshine on the rainy days. He loved life and made the most of every day. He had a love and appreciation of nature and all God's creatures and instilled this love to of all his kids and grandkids. We will keep looking for butterflies, birds and bugs for you dad and we will think of you every time we see them and know you are there with us.

Curt and Pat spent 53 years together building a beautiful life and raising their 5 children and 15 grandchildren. He loved his family more than anything. He didn't have to tell us he loved us, he lit up when he saw us and made us feel so valued in the way he treated us. Our hearts are broken, but we find solace knowing that he's dancing with our beautiful mama again. Save a spot for us you two, until we meet again. We will miss you every day.

Curt is survived by his five children- Janie (Mike) Rossberg, Julie (Darin) Newell, Laurie (Jamis) Nelson, Jeffrie (Larissa) Kindred and Kellie (Greg) Snarr, his Fourteen grandchildren- Cassidy (Mason), Ally (Nick), Jaden (MJ), Kamryn, Danni, Griffin, Gracen, Britt, Beck, Davis, Taese, Hazel, Ayla, Hudson, and Golden, his two brothers- Dave (Cheryl) Kindred and Steve (Karen) Kindred. He is preceded in death by his mom and dad and his wife- Patty.

We want to give a special thank you to Legacy Village Sugarhouse and our Harmony Hospice dream team- Lisa Hettich and Shannon Browning. Thank you for being angels in our lives and for showing so much loving care to our parents in their hardest days. We love you!
