On August 27th 2024, we said goodbye to our sweet angel, mother, grandmother, and friend, Connie Rae Magann Snyder she was 96. Connie was born July 31, 1928 in Soldier Summit, Utah to Verdis and Enid (Danforth) Magann. At the age of two she lost her hearing to spinal meningitis. Connie loved sharing stories of the fond memories she had of her home in Castlegate Utah and her time with her grandmother and uncles always expanding on how much they loved and spoiled her. She met the love of her life and husband of 65 years, John Edwin Snyder at The Utah School for the Deaf in Ogden, Utah. They raised their seven children in Murray, Utah. She later began working for Deseret Pharmaceutical to fund spoiling her grandchildren whom she loved, enjoyed and were the pride of her life. She was a stellar employee and the recipient of numerous awards and accolades for her efficiency and productivity.
Connie loved life and everything about it. She was forthright about her love for The Lord and often could be heard saying “God loves everyone” and “always trust God.” She attended Canyons Church in Cottonwood Heights and was extremely thankful for the deaf ministry and many friends she made during her time there. She enjoyed dancing, cooking and crocheting and spending time with her family camping, fishing, hunting and an occasional Wendover trip. She had a gift of hospitality and loved to cook for others. Visiting her home often meant enjoying a 10-course meal and no one left her house hungry. She will be remembered for her warm and welcoming hugs and grandma kisses.
Connie was strong willed and not afraid to stand up for what she believed in. She cared for everyone and wanted all people to be treated fairly. She spoke her mind and always defended the underdog. She never allowed her hearing impairment to interfere with her accomplishments. She was resilient and loving always sharing a smile, blowing a kiss and an “I love you” sign until her passing.
She is survived by her children Jon Snyder (Brenda) Tucson, AZ, Judy Tittensor American Fork, UT, Jackie (Bret) Stephensen Saratoga Springs, Ut, Jean (Gary) Robbins, Midvale, UT, Jolene Snyder Taylorsville, UT, 23 grandchildren 19 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren, whom she dearly loved. She is preceded in death by her husband John, daughters JoAnn Brown and Jan Volmer, and grandchildren, John Cody Large, Kolby DeMarco, Garrett Robbins, Derick Woods and brother, John (Sonny) Magann.
