Funeral Recording
Our loving Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Aunt and friend Colleen Nicol Orgill, 86 passed away on Feb 20, 2019 at the home of a daughter in Salt Lake City surrounded by loved ones, following a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s.

She was born in Heber City, Wasatch County, Utah on Jan. 15, 1933 to George Duke Nicol and Manilla Bisel.  She married LaRay Mark Orgill on November 10, 1953 in the Salt Lake Temple.

She graduated from Wasatch High School in 1951.

She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  She served in many callings including Relief Society President, Visiting teacher and Temple worker in the Jordan River Temple.

Colleen loved spending time with her family camping, hiking, bike riding, skiing and picnics. She was a wonderful homemaker, canning, making homemade bread and spend countless hours playing with her children. Colleen and LaRay even went with the kids and their dates on hikes. She spent many years sharing time with family at reunions and parties.  Their home was open to all of the kids and their friends.  When LaRay was heading out with the explorers, she made sure that a nice breakfast was prepared for all of them before they hit the road.  She loved flower gardens and spending time in the yard. She loved spending time with friends.  There were many trips taken to see the country.  She spent time with her lunch bunch friends monthly.  Her friends got together weekly for a game day. She was always there to listen and help all those that shared her life.

She is survived by her children, Georgia Rae (David) Stroh, Blake (Wanda), Brent (Holly), Mark (Kim) Orgill and Keri DeOllos all of Salt Lake City; 20 grandchildren and 58 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by parents, step father Carl Melvin Taylor, husband, brothers, Thomas Verdon Nicol, Robert G. Nicol, Gerald Bisel Nicol, step brother, Melvin Taylor, 1 grandson, baby DeOllos and 2 great-grandchildren, Garrett Newman and Lorelai Orgill.
