Cody Stephen Rosemann
12/14/1987 – 12/26/2013
Cody Stephen Rosemann was born December 14, 1987 in Lancaster, California and died unexpectedly December 26, 2013 at his home in Draper, Utah returning with honor to his Father in Heaven.
Having Downs Syndrome did not stop him from many accomplishments. He ran track on Special Olympics teams from 2 ½ to 18, swam, played basketball, learned ballroom dancing and cheerleading. He achieved rank of Eagle Scout. He won the Mr. Alta title his senior year which he was so proud of. Everything he signed was Cody Rosemann, Mr. Alta.
No one was a stranger to Cody. He loved being with his family. He enjoyed our week long river trips, our many family reunions at Bear Lake and cruising, where he’d win several awards. He loved watching his brothers play football and self-appointed himself as assistant coach. He will miss his special friends Jesse, Jordan and Josh along with his many other friends who took him to dinner, shows and dancing. They were lights in his life. He will be waiting on the other side for his sweet Chanel.
You would hardly ever see him without a power ranger. He spent hours having battles. He loved to sing. He’d sing until late into the night and be out on the porch singing while waiting for his ride. He was always practicing for the next talent show. He sang in his church choir.
He had a fervent testimony of the gospel. He knew the principles of the gospel were true and was first to bear testimony of that every fast and testimony meeting. He was serving his second mission at the Kari Sue Hamilton Special Needs institute, helping people in wheelchairs. He was an Elder in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
We are so thankful for all of the aids, teachers, young men leaders, bishops and mission friends for all the time you took to help Cody accomplish what he did. You were angels in his life.
Cody is survived by his parents Walt and Debie Rosemann, his siblings, Chari (John) Briggs, Paul (Melanie) DeVoogd, Ashley DeVoogd, Jakeb Rosemann, Zach Rosemann, Jamie (Chuck) Mair, Kelly (Troy) Hansen, Nicole Rosemann and Michael (Teasha) Rosemann, 18 nieces and nephews and Grandmothers, OmaTrudy Rosemann and Dona Price Ellis. He was preceded in death by his brother Kade and his Grandfathers Opa Werner Rosemann and Jerry Doyle Price.
Cody’s funeral will be held Saturday, January 4th 2 p.m. at the Draper Stake Center, 13085 South 300 East with a viewing Friday January 3rd from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Draper Stake Center and from 1 to 1:45 p.m. prior to services.
