Our beloved father, husband, grandfather, and great grandfather, Calvin Clark Harris, peacefully left us at the age of 98, on March 2, 2025. Calvin has been married to his beloved wife, Elaine, for 71 years. Their posterity includes six children, 21 grandchildren and 64 great grandchildren, all living. Calvin was a man of many talents. He graduated from Utah State University with a Bachelor’s Degree. His deep and abiding testimony of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ was instilled in him by his loving parents as a small boy while living on their family farm in Roosevelt, Utah. After returning home from his honorable release from the Navy after World War II, it was his great desire to serve a mission, and he was able to complete this mission, serving amongst the Native Americans in New Mexico and Arizona. He and his wife also served a mission together in Nauvoo, Illinois.

He made and cherished lasting relationships through his employment as an industrial arts teacher at Jordan High School, and as an electrician with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Working was his joy and devotion, as he consistently had a major project on the family home, a fishing trip just ahead, or his garden to till. We were often humored by his unconventional methods and ingenuity.

He ingeniously found extra part-time jobs, often involving his children to help him bring home his 2nd paycheck.

He enjoyed his numerous neighbors, friends, family, and associates. He was a master gardener and gave generously of his fresh fruits and vegetables.

We gratefully acknowledge hospice workers and those who cared for dad and mom over the last few months.

Love you Dad.
