Caleb Owen

July 12, 1999 — October 3, 2022

Caleb Dan Owen passed away in his sleep at his home in Pocatello, Idaho on October 3, 2022.

He was 23 years old and had a love for life. He was admired by his five younger siblings and adored by his 2 older siblings. Caleb was generous and loving. He was creative, motivated, and clever.

He was born in Murray, Utah on July 12, 1999. He grew up in Terreton, Idaho with his siblings. He excelled at school; he was extremely passionate about the things that he liked. His favorite animal was monkeys and he had quite a few stuffed animal monkeys that were pretty much a part of the family. He was diagnosed with obsessive compulsive disorder and Asperger’s when he was in second grade. These labels did not limit him, but instead created opportunities for his family to learn and appreciate him as he was.

He loved to cook and do things for other people. He came up with creative recipes to try out on his family. Caleb also loved to build things with duct tape and other odds and ends. He enjoyed writing; he wrote books, stories, songs, and poetry that were entertaining and unique.

He graduated from high school in 2017 and moved to Idaho Falls. He worked for a long time at Fred Meyer. He moved to Alaska and continued working at Fred Meyer. He loved Alaska but eventually came back home to Idaho. He worked at the Fred Meyer in Pocatello and lived at home for a few months before getting his own place.

He was excited having his own place again. He talked about a stray kitten that would visit him and expressed how much he hoped to get his own cat in the future. Recently, he was able to live out this dream and added a pet kitten named Boots to his household. He eventually stopped working at Fred Meyer and started working for Home2Suites hotel in the last few months.

We all loved him very much. So many things reminded us of him. Dad was at a renaissance fair the day before and kept thinking about how much Caleb would love it. Caleb loved many things and we all loved Caleb immensely.

He was just a kid. So much of his life was left to live. We will miss him every day. He left behind his parents, Dan and Jill; siblings: Jennifer (Mark), James, Coreen (Jacob), Jarom, Amanda, Abigail, and Autumn Annalina; his girlfriend Ainsley; 5 nieces and 3 nephews; his grandmothers, Rolean Peterson and Dorothy Owen; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends that loved him also.

Funeral services will be held at Cannon Mortuary 2460 E. Bengal Blvd. (7600 South) Salt Lake City, Utah 84121. Viewing will be October 9th 6 pm to 8 pm, the funeral will be held October 10th at 10 am.
