“And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make”
How to summarize the life of a man who shone so bright? Bruce Lawrence Hilton peacefully passed away surrounded by his loving wife and children, Sunday, July 10, 2022 in Millcreek, Utah; reuniting with his parents and Heavenly Father.
Bruce was born January 11, 1967 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Judith Ann Bennett and Lawrence Donald Hilton. Bruce had a tenacious and creative spirit that was evident in anything he put his mind to. From homemade board games, to detailed and lively Halloween parties, to custom piñatas, everything Bruce made had magic in it. He brought countless joy to others.
One year his daughter requested a peanut themed birthday party. Rather than redirect her, he made a Mr. Peanut piñata, Mrs. Peanut cake and pin the monocle on Mr. Peanut. Bruce enjoyed embracing oddities, the weirder the better.
He brought Michelle along into his whimsy and adventure, marrying June 21, 2003 and sealed in the Logan LDS temple on June 4, 2005.
Bruce worked for 20 years as a Physical Therapist. He touched the lives of many during his time working in Home Health and at St Mark’s Hospital. All knew that the “strong one” would be there for them if they needed. All you needed to do was call and Bruce would be there.
Bruce’s always said his greatest life accomplishment was being a father. He devoted himself to his 5 children, never missing one recital, game or graduation. They loved having such a fun and creative Dad who was full of surprises and odd traditions. To uphold his legacy and traditions will be an honor.
To know Bruce was to love Bruce. From long winded tales about the shenanigans he got into with his rambunctious brothers and life long friends, to listening to music around the campfire, to various experimental kitchen concoctions, Bruce brought light, life and fun wherever he went. We can only imagine what sort of adventures he is up to now; all with a “Mountain Face”.
He is survived by his loving wife, Michelle Hilton, his adoring children Ben (Hannah) Hilton, Hannah (Emmanuel) Salinas, Rachel Hilton, Nathan Hilton and Logan Hilton, his brothers, Dan (Michelle) Hilton and Joe (Carrie) Hilton, his lifelong friend Nathan (Christine) Marshall as well as many other loving family and friends who were touched by his life.
His family would like to thank the nurses and staff at St Mark’s Hospital for their compassion and care.
