Gone Hunting
Bradley (Brad) Herridge was born on October 21, 1961, in Provo Utah to Frank Alan Herridge and Ellen Marilyn Barham. Our loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Son, Brother, and Uncle passed away peacefully after complications from surgery on April 11, 2024, in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Bradley married Joan Vander Linden on April 3, 1996. He always said that Joan was the love of his life. He called her his Joanie Girl, or Boo.
Brad loves his Savior Jesus Christ, and His gospel. He proudly served a two-year mission for His church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Virginia. He served in many positions, but his favorite was while serving as scout master. His scouts would call him “B-Rad”. He worked with them and helped them to achieve many merit badges and was always very encouraging and supportive for them to obtain their Eagle Scout award, as he also had earned his Eagle Scout award and was very proud of that accomplishment.
We could see the pure joy that Brad had when both of his grandsons, Tim, and Remi, were born. Nothing made Brad prouder than to be called grandpa. He often sent pictures of his boys to family and friends to show them off. He has a special love for his nieces and nephews and cherished those relationships. Brad made everyone feel they were important, like they were his best friend. He treated everyone with kindness and was a fierce defender if he thought someone had done you wrong.
Brad loves animals, especially horses and dogs. It is comforting to us that Brad’s dog Zeus passed away the night before and was there to greet him. He loves hunting and fishing and enjoyed sharing stories of when he was younger, hunting and fishing with his father, brother, and friends. He enjoyed talking with his son and nephew about future hunting trips he wanted to do. He had a love for guns and knives and would be excited to show us the latest knife or gun he had purchased.
Brad loves sports. He loved cheering on the Jazz basketball team or watching a baseball game with Joanie. However, his number one was any sport with BYU. Brad is true blue through and through.
Brad is the king of “Bad Dad Jokes”. He had thousands of them and would always crack a joke to make us laugh. He helped us get through some sad, or stressful times with a joke to lighten things up. He would share those jokes with the bank teller on the phone, or the waitress at the restaurant. Everyone around him benefited from his fun personality.
One of Brads greatest loves is Disneyland. He loved everything about it and would go as often as possible, with his family. He was able to take his Joanie Girl to Disneyland this past October 2023, which was very special for the two of them. They were there during the 100 years of wonder medallions celebration, and he enjoyed searching the entire park for the various medallion machines. Unfortunately, they couldn’t collect all the coins, but it was a cherished trip and one that Joanie will remember forever and thinks about often.
Brad is survived by his wife Joan Herridge, sons Christopher (Meggan) of South Jordan UT, Scott of Tooele UT, Father Frank Herridge of Salt Lake City, UT, Brother Thomas (Rhonda) Herridge of West Jordan, UT, Sister Lisa (Gordon) Clark of South Jordan, UT. His precious Grandsons Timothy, and Remington, Sister in Law’s - Tracey, Melanie, Stephanie, and many beloved nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Preceded in Death by his mother Marilyn Fox, Father and Mother-in-Law Arther and Ruth Vander Linden, Sister-in-Law Christine, and Brother in laws Scott, Skip, Bill, and Ren.
