Bertam Pack Hill, 89, passed away on July 12th, 2020 in South Jordan, UT succumbed to the rigors of old age.
Visitation will be 9:30-10:45 AM on Thursday, July 16th, 2020 at Cannon Mortuary- 2460 Bengal Blvd, Cottonwood Heights, UT 84121.
Private Family Memorial services will be held after the Visitation at 11:00 AM at Cannon Mortuary. The family invites you to watch the services at that time by clicking on the link below. Burial will follow at the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
Bert was born in SLC, UT to Golden Return and Marie Pack Hill on August 8th, 1930, with his twin sister Bertie. He went to school at East High and graduated from West High School. He married Ruth M. Pehrson in 1973. He worked as a welder and handy man for most of his life. He joined the National Guard and later was activated into the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He served in the 115th Engineers Combat Battalion as a Combat Engineer. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and held multiple callings throughout his life including being the maintenance man for his church/stake property, loved to dance, mastered the art of welding, ace mechanic, practical inventor, remarkable sense of humor, instructor of welding classes at then Trade Tech, and volunteered as Docent at the Utah Hogle Zoo.
Bert is preceded in death by his parents, his siblings: Geneive, Dorothy, Derrell, Bertie (twin sister), and Glen, Bert’s wife Ruth M. Pehrson Hill, his sons B. Craig Hill, and Layne B. Hill.
Bert is survived by the mother of his children/Ex-Wife Glenda Sant, Children: Jeff (Gayle) Hill, Jenny Hawkins, and Spencer (Aundrea) Hill, Siblings: Elaine (Calvin) Harris, and Ramona Hill, 19 Grandchildren and 19 Great-Grandchildren, school exchange student, Gloria Begay Johnson (Dennis).
