Funeral Recording

Barbara Jay, Wife, Mom, Grammy, Sister, Friend and Pickleball Player passed away on February 19, 2021 at the home of her daughter of natural causes.

I was born to Jean Boese and Adolphus Thornburg in Randolph County, Indiana. I have one brother, Jack Thornburg, who resides in Ohio. I passed away at age 71 in Cottonwood Heights, Utah.

I was raised on a farm in West Alexandria, Ohio. At age 19, I married my high school sweetheart, David Chaney. We had two wonderful children, Melissa Chaney Wilczek (Paul) and Michael Chaney(Jennifer). After 17 years of marriage, we divorced. I then met and married the absolute love of my life, George Jay. George brought three great children into the marriage, Thomas Jay (Kateri), Roger Jay (deceased) and Sherill Jay Armstrong (Robert). The blended family has been blessed with a group of grandchildren including seven boys, four girls and four great grandchildren.

The happiest years of my life were when George and I danced. We took a lot of western dance classes. When he held me in his arms and glided me across that dance floor, my heart and love for him soared and I was the happiest woman on earth.
