Baker Erickson, loving father, grandfather and friend, age 79, passed away October 24, 2014 peacefully in his sleep at home.
Born April 9, 1935, Minersville, Utah to Charles Elwood and Sylvia Luella Baker Erickson. Married Shanna June Thompson, June 18, 1958, Milford, Utah. She passed away May 25, 2001.
Baker was an avid hunter and fisherman. He spent his career working for the Union Pacific Railroad. He also served in the U.S. Army.
Survived by his daughter, Leslie Cantwell; son, Rodney Erickson; sister Lois (Gary) Gillins; brother, Lee (Katie) Rollins; sister, Beverly (Roy) Stidham; 7 grandchildren, Adam (Lisa) Cantwell, Erick (Rachel Hunter) Cantwell, Stephanie Erickson, Tiffany Jane (Shelly) Erickson-Scott, Jacob Cantwell, Mark Cantwell and Ivy Cantwell; 5 great grandchildren, James, Annie, Claire Cantwell, Ruby Kawulok and Ammon Craghead. Also special friend, Jan Roberts. Preceded in death by parents; stepfather, Doyle Rollins; son, Rick Erickson; grandson, Jared Cantwell, sister, Phyllis (Roy) Hoopes and son-in-law, Jerry Cantwell.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 30, 2014, 12:00 p.m. at Cannon Mortuary, 2460 E. Bengal Blvd. (7600 S.) A visitation will be held Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at Cannon Mortuary from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and the day of the service from 11:00 to 11:45 a.m. Interment Westminster Cemetery, Westminster, California.
