Funeral Recording

Ann Halliday Turner returned to her Heavenly Father on February 20, 2020, with family members present. She was born in Salt Lake City Utah on March 3, 1934 to Herbert Hartland Halliday Sr. and Annie Camille Bowring Woodbury. She was the youngest of 5 children, (brothers) Herbert Hartland Jr. Paul Milwood, Allan Dean, Thomas Woodbury Halliday, and James Jim Halliday.

She was married to Glenn Jay Hintze Sr. and together had 4 boys, Glenn, Mark, Alan, and Hartland and later divorced. She then married Barney H. Turner and later divorced.

She was preceded in death by her Father and Mother, Brothers Herbert Hartland, Alan Dean, Thomas Woodbury and her son Mark Halliday Hintze.

She is survived by her Brothers Paul M. Halliday (Rosie) and James Jim Halliday, Sons Glenn Jay Hintze Jr. (Pam), Robyn P Hintze daughter in law, Alan Halliday Hintze (Tory), Hartland Halliday Hintze (Suzanne) and 16 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.

She was a boy’s mom having been raised with 4 brothers and having 4 boys of her own who kept busy as active boys will do. Her boys were her greatest joy. Anybody who knew her had no question of what her favorite color was. Purple of course. Her yard gave her great peace in keeping it well groomed and in order as she learned from her father.  She so loved her Mother and Father and truly was her “Daddy’s little girl”. She enjoyed her trip with her mother to Hawaii and many trips to Lake Powell with dear friends and family.

She worked at Olympus Clinic, Holladay Utah, for over 25 years in many different duties and retired as a financial assistant.

She lived in the same home for over 60 years and developed lifelong friendships through the ward family and community. In later years she relied on the service and friendship provided by the ward family and community for which she was eternally grateful. This allowed her to stay in her home for several years longer than expected. She continually expressed her gratitude for such service and help offered through loving ministering sisters and brothers who truly followed the Savior in serving others.

She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and had a burning testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She served in many callings throughout her life including Relief society, Primary, Ward Missionary, Young Women’s leader, and affected many lives for good through her service. She so enjoyed learning of the gospel and attended many seminars and classes to increase her testimony and knowledge of the gospel. She so loved attending the Temple and attended weekly for many many years until her health would not allow her to do so. She loved this scripture, “Trust in the Lord with All Thine Heart and Lean not to thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6

The family wishes to thank Wentworth at Coventry and Inspiration Hospice for their compassionate love and care she received from the assisted living center she called home where she felt safe and cared for during the last 6 months of her life.

In her own words “I love my Father and Mother. I love my sons beyond expression, my daughters in law (daughters), my grand children, great grand children and great, great grand children and my brothers Herb, Paul, Dean, Tom, and Jim. “

God Be With You Till We Meet Again.
