Our beloved husband, father, and grandpa (PaPoe), Allen Fred Adams, passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2025, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Allen was born in Salt Lake City on March 7, 1957, to Fred Phillip and Maurine Andrus Adams.
Allen enjoyed growing up with his seven siblings, always seeking and creating adventures. Throughout his life, he perfected the art of friendly pranks and embraced life with joy. Allen had a deep love for music and played the drums throughout high school in the Skyline High School band.
On August 28, 1981, Allen married his high school sweetheart, Karri Lyn Moore. Their children loved hearing stories of how they got in trouble in seminary class for holding hands. Allen continued to hold Karri’s hand until the very end. Together, they shared over 43 years of adventures and love.
He worked for over 35 years selling fiberglass and resin until back issues led to early retirement. Afterward, he cherished the time spent babysitting his grandchildren. Family was Allen's greatest treasure, and he truly valued time with them. He celebrated his children’s and grandchildren’s accomplishments and was always there to lend a listening ear.
Allen was a true cowboy. He absolutely loved horseback riding, hunting, fishing, camping, trail-rides, the buffalo roundup, and country music. He found joy in spending time in nature. He also enjoyed going on road trips with his family and experiencing new places and things.
Allen's love for Christmas was reflected in his idea, creation, and active participation in Christmas Street in Taylorsville, making it his heartfelt contribution to the community.
Ten years ago, Allen suffered an anoxic brain injury that changed the course of his life. Despite the challenges, he remained a fighter and cherished every moment with his family.
Allen was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, served a mission in the Philippines, and dedicated many years as a Scout Master. He loved seeing the youth grow and learn new things. Allen understood the importance of helping others and spent countless hours caring for and assisting friends and neighbors.
He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, one sister, father-in-law, mother-in-law, and two brothers-in-law. He is survived by his wife, Karri, his four children: Christi Adams, Jeffrey (Shalece) Adams, Kimberly (Cody) Cragun, and Natalie (Josh) Jones, nine grandchildren: Austin, Kinzley, Aubrey, Keira Adams, Cooper, Kayston, Kaitlin Cragun, Jaxon, Lilly Jones, three sisters, one brother, and two sisters-in-law.
